Mussoorie and Dhanaulti, both these places are two major tourist places of Dehradun capital. It is located at a distance of about 30 and 60 kilometers from Dehradun. The altitude of both these places is 6,578 feet and 7,500 feet above sea level.
Mussoorie is a hill town settled since the time of the British, which is famous for its natural places and cold. There are many places to visit here, to enjoy which many tourists from outside cities come here every year. It is a mall road to roam, like it is in Nainital and Shimla too. Since the time of the British, the local hill market here is called Mall Road.
Dhanolti is a cold and tourist place, in every winter season, travelers from far and wide come here and enjoy the snow. This place is surrounded by deodar and barren trees. The Himalayan mountain range can also be easily seen from here.

Day 1:- Dehradun to Mussoorie (34 km / approx 1 hr 30 min.)
On our first day of tour we drive to Mussoorie where we will visit the Dehradun Zoo “Malsi Deer Park”. Then after that we will visit the famous temple of Lord Shiva which is at Mussoorie road. Likewise you can also visit the in route destinations like Maggie Point & Jhari Pani. Then we will reach Mussoorie and refresh yourself in the hotel room. You can roam around the Mussoorie market at night too.
(Mussoorie (Garhwali/Hindi: Masūrī) is a hill station and a municipal board in the Dehradun District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is located about 35 km from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km north from the national capital of New Delhi. This hill station is situated in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. The adjoining town of Landour, which includes a military cantonment, is considered part of ‘greater Mussoorie’, as are the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani. The pin code for Mussoorie is 248179. Being at an average altitude of 1,880 metres (6,170 ft), Mussoorie, with its green hills and varied flora and fauna, is a fascinating hill resort. Commanding snow ranges to the north-east and glittering views of the Doon Valley and Shivalik ranges in the south, the town was once said to present a ‘fairyland’ atmosphere to tourists. The second highest point is the original Lal Tibba in Landour, with a height of over 2,275 metres (7,464 ft).

Day 2:- Mussoorie Sightseeing
Today after breakfast we will visit the famous places of Hill queen Mussoorie famous places like Gun hill, Kempty falls & George Everest. Thereafter, visit Company Gardens and Cloud end. Later in the evening we will come back to Hotel and then do some shopping in Mussoorie market.
(Mussoorie was founded by Lt. Frederick Young ( Born 30 November 1786 at Green Castle, Moville, Ireland, Died 24 May 1874 in Ireland) of East India Company. Lt. Young came to these hills for the sole purpose of bagging some game. He was so enamored by the beauty that he decided to build a hunting lodge (shooting box) on the Camel’s Back Road along with FJ Shore, Jt. Magistrate of Doon in 1823. He also raised the first Gurkha Regiment and planted the first potatoes in the valley.

Day 3:- Mussoorie to Dhanolti (Sightseeing) (32 km / approx 1 hr 30 min.)
Today we will go to Dhanolti after breakfast and enjoy the hill route where you feel the air of open surface. When we will reach Dhanolti we get into our camp or Hotel room and put our luggage there, then we will go to Eco Park & Surkanda Mandir. After enjoying the whole day, we will come back to our campsite or hotel and relax a bit and then have dinner.
(Dhanaulti is a hill station 24 km (15 mi) from the popular hill station of Mussoorie, and 31 km (19 mi) from Chamba, as it is situated between the two.
It is situated at an altitude of 2286m, and is known for its quiet environs amidst the alpine forests of Deodar, Rhododendron and Oak.)
(ECO-Park, It is the main attraction of Dhanaulti. There are two Eco-parks, “Amber” and “Dhara” about 200 m apart. It has been developed recently by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand with the help of local youth. About 60 local youth, both male and females are employed as Guides, Gardeners, Service providers, Ticket Collectors, Information Providers etc. It houses a protected patch of small forest containing Deodar Trees.There is an entry fee of Rs 25 For Adults and Rs 10 for Children. The adventure sports facility is available for visitors in the form of walking over the flying fox and Burma bridges and riding horses. There is also a facility for visitors to plant a sapling of tree species in the memory of their beloved, which is called as memory sapling plantation.
(Surkanda Devi Temple is 8 km (5.0 mi) far away from Dhanolti, on the road towards Chamba lies the Surkanda Devi Temple, famous for its Ganga Dussehra fair in autumn. It is part of the Devi Darshan triangle, which offers trekking opportunities around Dhanaulti – Surkanda Devi, Chandrabadni and Kunjapuri.

Day 4:- Dhanolti to Dehradun (60 km / approx 2 hr 30 min.)
Today, we will wake up comfortably and will do breakfast and after breakfast, we will go to Dehradun from Dhanolti. Our beautiful tour of Mussoorie & Dhanaulti will end up here with happiness.

The ideal time or peak season to go for Mussoorie Dhanolti tour is from January to December, except monsoons. This is because during the monsoon season, there is undue threat of having landslides, which can further disrupt the journey.

ADVISORY | Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes. Carry BSNL, Vodafone and Airtel. Out of three anyone will work for sure. Carry Aadhar card. Pay heed to the trek leader or instructor in order to enjoy a safe and sound trekking experience. Do not consume alcohol or any other intoxicants during the trek. Avoid trekking during the nights. Before undertaking the trek, consult a physician. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the trek. The trek takes place through eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites. |
